Nephi is able to converse with the Lord directly atop a high mountain (which is reminiscent of Moses receiving the Ten Commandments) and is instructed, despite certain ridicule from his brothers, to build a ship (a scene that will remind readers of Noah from the Old Testament/Hebrew Bible).
