“We Did Travel Nearly Eastward”

From Jerusalem to Nahom, the course of the company of Lehi had been in a south-easterly direction. They had perhaps followed the mountain chain which runs parallel with the Sea. At Nahom, the direction was changed to "nearly eastward." They must have found a convenient mountain pass leading to the interior of the country.
