“He Did Fear and Tremble Exceedingly”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet
Nephi did not tell us what was written upon the Liahona. The fact that it caused Lehi, Laman and Lemuel, the sons of Ishmael, and their wives to “fear and tremble exceedingly” indicates that it was a very sobering message, possibly foreshadowing the consequences of their faithless and disobedient behavior.
