“Wilderness”

Alan C. Miner

Nephi noted that they traveled in the wilderness "keeping in the most fertile parts of the wilderness, which were in the borders near the Red Sea" (1 Nephi 16:14). Nephi thus tends to at least divide the term "wilderness" into parts, and it seems that "the most fertile parts" of that wilderness were "in the borders near the Red Sea." [Alan C.
