“Daughters of Ishmael to Wife”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet
We have already seen that in the providence of God, Ishmael’s family, in which there were five daughters, was joined with Lehi’s family of sons so that “they might raise up seed unto the Lord in the land of promise” (1 Nephi 7:1). Later Nephi noted that he took one of Ishmael’s daughters to wife, that his brothers did likewise, and that Zoram married the eldest of these girls. It is not necessary to conclude that all were married at the same time.
