Nephi explains to his brothers that Lehi’s dream went beyond his own family to include the rest of Abraham’s posterity. Why do Laman and Lemuel require this explanation? They were both men of their times, and their culture tended to see the world in terms of their own group. Thus, they would have assumed that the vision would pertain to their lineage but would not automatically assume that it held relevance for anyone else.
