“Thou Shalt Be Brought into Judgment”

Joseph F. McConkie, Robert L. Millet
The principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ set forth with such clarity in the Book of Mormon, include the following: faith, repentance, baptism, reception of the Holy Ghost, enduring to the end, resurrection, and judgment (cf. 3 Nephi 27). Joseph Smith taught: “The Doctrines of the Resurrection of the Dead and the Eternal Judgment are necessary to preach among the first principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ” (Teachings, p. 149). All must account to the “keeper of the gate,” the Holy One of Israel (2 Nephi 9:41), for the manner in which they have governed their stewardships of time and opportunities.
