“Mocking and Pointing Their Fingers”

Brant Gardner

This verse continues to extend the dream from the individual to the many. The vision may designate the building as the world’s pride or as human philosophies, but the main focus of the vision is the soul’s quest for salvation—for the fruit of the gospel. Some find it and hold to it. Some lose themselves on the way. Some taste it but let human philosophies persuade them that they have made a mistake. The effect of those philosophies must be strong indeed to overcome the taste of that fruit.
