It was wise for Nephi to quickly disarm General Laban by withdrawing his sword. In volume one of Treasures from the Book of Mormon on page 35 we see an illustration of Nephi kneeling beside the unconscious Laban with the general's sword in his hand. It was at this moment that the Spirit of God gave him a shocking message.
