The text consistently refers to Lehi as “a visionary man”, never as “a visionary”:

When he copied from 𝓞 to 𝓟, Oliver Cowdery initially wrote “a visionary”, but he immediately caught his error and supralinearly inserted the word man without any change in ink flow. The word visionary always acts as a modifier in the Book of Mormon text.
