Zosimus

Ed J. Pinegar, Richard J. Allen

The Narrative of Zosimus was circulated in the first centuries a.d. but probably written before the birth of Christ. Zosimus tells of a righteous group of people leaving Jerusalem at the time of Jeremiah the prophet and then journeying across the ocean to a promised land. Many other details of the Narrative of Zosimus parallel the Book of Mormon account. Though we know nothing about Zosimus’s life from historical accounts, in the narrative he prays, is visited by an angel, and sees a vision similar to Lehi’s dream of the tree of life.
