After a great spiritual quickening of the body it often leaves a person terribly weak. Moses says that after his first vision of God he was so weak he could not get up from the ground for several hours. Lehi also felt weak and debilitated after his vision and therefore he returned to his house and retired to his bed. Notice that the record never tells us what he saw and heard in this first vision.
