Obedience brings the favor of the Lord. When we keep the commandments and submit to the will of our Heavenly Father, we enjoy the extraordinary blessing of having His Spirit with us always (see D&C 20:77, 79). Through obedience in heeding the promptings of the Spirit and honoring the covenant principles, we will be “favored of the Lord” (compare also 1 Nephi 3:16; Mosiah 10:13; Alma 48:20; Ether 1:34).
